How does the way we choose and… treat our food affects the planet? We have to stop (food)wasting our time! Every choice we make as far as our food is concerned is connected to our planet in many ways that we cannot possibly understand, unless… someone talks to us about it!

This education program, has been designed to meet the requirements of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), for the year 2030 as far as food, health, environment and education is concerned. You see -in some way- all these pillars are connected to each other. Health, is definitely connected to food. Food production, on the other hand, affects the environment (which is also connected to health) whereas education helps us to reach and work for the best for all of the above.

The concept of Food Security Center’s education programs.

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015, provides a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future. At its heart are the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are an urgent call for action by all countries – developed and developing – in a global partnership. They recognize that ending poverty and other deprivations must go hand-in-hand with strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth – all while tackling climate change and working to preserve our oceans and forests. The Sustainable Development Goals are the blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all. They address the global challenges we face, including those related to poverty, inequality, climate, environmental degradation, prosperity, and peace and justice. The Goals interconnect and in order to leave no one behind, it is important that we achieve each Goal and target by 2030. You can learn more here.
